Impact investing has been cited by many as one of the most promising trends in philanthropy.  While not strictly philanthropy, impact investing has the potential to bring significant capital to bear on social change efforts.  This type of investment approach prioritizes social and environmental returns over financial, and offers the philanthropic community an additional tool to fund meaningful work.   Colorado Impact Days Call for Deals

In Colorado, we’ve seen growing interest in impact investing.  Organizations like The Denver Foundation have begun using an impact investment approach as part of their philanthropic strategy, and investment products such as Ours To Own provide opportunities for individuals to directly invest in the growth of their communities.

We are excited to highlight a brand new event that will showcase impact investment opportunities.  CO Impact Days, March 3-4, 2016, is the first attempt to develop a statewide marketplace for impact investing; identifying, connecting, and celebrating Colorado’s top social ventures and impact investors from the Western Slope to the Front Range. CO Impact Days’ education, symposium, marketplace, awards, and celebration is designed to bring together Colorado’s top 50 social ventures, 200 impact investors, and 500+ community members in a first of its kind 2-day inspiring event.

This week, CO Impact Days released a Call for Deals, inviting any social ventures seeking capital, including nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, funds, agencies, community partnerships, or independent projects to apply. If you or your organization is seeking investment capital that also produces a positive impact on Colorado’s communities, economy and natural environment, this is a great opportunity.  Submit your investment opportunity by completing this two-page application by January 10th, 2016.
